Our History

Twin Lakes Christian School, formerly known as Mid County Christian School, was a vision in the mind and heart of Richard Jordahl, former Pastor of Care and Counseling at Twin Lakes Church in Aptos, California.

In 1979, Pastor Jordahl received approval from the Twin Lakes Church Board of Directors to form a committee to develop a Christian elementary school for kindergarten through fifth grade.

Twin Lakes Christian School opened in 1980 with one kindergarten class. Over the next five years, one additional grade was added each year. Our first fifth grade class graduated in June, 1986. 

In 1995, the Board approved a plan to add a total of four modular buildings to our campus over the next five years. This would allow the school to add a second classroom at each grade level. A sixth grade was later added in 2003. In the Fall of 2011 Twin Lakes Christian School added a Middle School. 

We moved into our new school building in Spring 2016 and it houses our kindergarten through 5th grade classrooms as well as our Middle School science lab and STEAM lab.
